Just open a text file in notepad, copy the code, save it to your desktop as "shutdown.bat" and run it.

I have been using this batch file for years to shut down my Windows laptop.

I guess we didn't really learn enough about software pranks back then. we kept doing this at reduced intervals until we had the front-bencher stroking the side of his monitor - with brightness rising and falling on each stroke. the front-bencher slapped his monitor and we turned the brightness back on. partly into the session, we turned off the brightness. Well, one day in class - we had one lone guy sitting in front and two of us sitting in the last row. this box had a knob on it which - when turned - controlled the brightness for all the monitors in that column. In the last row of each column was a flat box attached under the desk titled a 'faculty splitter' - I guess the purpose of this box was to distribute the image on the faculty monitor to all the student monitors. the faculty had a monitor of their own on a separate teachers desk. In another prank, our classrooms for computer classes had 15 two seater desks (3 columns x 5 rows) - each having its own stand-alone CRT monitor. It was fun to see people trying to log in. My prank targeted any grouping of three consecutive computers - I switched the keyboards of the first and second units and the mice of the second and third units. In our lab, we had computers lined up side-by-side on two long rows of desks. I guess my pranks were far more unrefined and hardware-based. "don't do it again, but I won't say anything because he is a dick"

His response pretty much made me love the man. I thought I was a dead man and admitted what I had been doing. He comes back half an hour later having not found anything but we were giggling pretty bad when he walked in the room. This went on for quite a while until he became angry and barged into the tech office yelling to the teacher about how his kids were worthless and demanded he go down there personally and check it out. Then he'd call us up there and we couldn't find anything wrong, and then a minute after we'd leave we would do it again. I would do stuff like open and close the cd tray, change the mouse sensitivity and so forth. We had a program where you could put in an ip of a machine on the network and remotely control things without any displays otherwise on the machine being controlled. We had a pretty cool principal, but the assistant principal seemed to get his rocks off being a bully and treated the teachers like shit, in front of students and parents.Īnyways, I made it my mission to mess with him and placement in the student tech program was a goldmine for this.
